Hi, I lost my Asus Laptop's SD card tray. I'd like to get another one because I'm worried about the dust that could get in. Where could I find another one?

Don't worry about it. You probably have at least 20 more holes that are longer and wider all over the laptop for ventilation that inhale air and dust all that time.

If you are talking about the little blank plastic insert that goes into the SD card slot, to keep dust and debris out, then you can easily find a repalcement.
I don't know where you live, so I can't recommend a particular vendor. But do a search for "SD Card dummy" and you can find plenty of them for about $1 or $2. The shipping will most likely cost you more than the card dummy itself. -
Most laptops (like mine for instance) don't even have a dummy card in the slot.... and yes - there are many many other wholes for dust to go in
Don't bother...

On a related note, I had removed the blank from the SD card slot on my Asus to insert an SD card. To keep track of the blank, I inserted it into the card slot on my Toshiba laptop (which didn't come with a blank to fill the slot). I almost immediately started having constant BSOD issues with the Toshiba. Took me about 10 minutes before I thought to remove the blank, and the BSOD issues immediately stopped. Is it possible that some laptops aren't designed to have a blank filling the slot? The Toshiba slot reads REAL SD cards just fine.

That's interesting. Was it possible that the SD card got wet before you insert it in your toshiba? like sweaty palm. i'm just asking -

Since most of the SD slots I've seen are spring-loaded, it might be that the Toshiba slot is set to "off" when there's nothing inside, but when you put something inside to "set" the spring, it turns on and is constantly trying to read whatever's in there. The fact that it's something unreadable is then confusing it.
