    lost in LCD market,I need suggestion asap for budget one

    My VGA is onboard,no DVI port ,i just need a LCD 17" for office,surf web, watching Tv by TV external box.I also take a look at some price lists but there are too many brand name LCD at the same price.I'm too confused to pick 1 up,i also dont have any knowledge of LCD.Pls give me some advice.there are the price list from my country,dont suprise if they are expensiver than western countries :eek:

    a lot of the screens your looking at are most likely the same.
    theres not a lot of screen makers, the main ones are LG, Viewsonic, Sharp, Samsung, Fujitsu, S-LCD(Sony), as well as sony un-retailed manufacturers like AU/Quanta, CoolTouch.

    I think your choices would definately be a min of 1280x1024res and id personally go with an Asus. LG or ViewSonic

    vga on lcd looks really bad imo compared to dvi

    what port does the e1505 have? vga or DVI?

    from the specs #13 seems like a good screen (5ms response, nice resolution, LG)

    The 1505 only has VGA.

    Check with Dell's regular LCDs, they often have sales with great prices. I picked up an e207wfp 20" LCD for $299 Canadian a few months back.

    If you are buying from USA you can easily get a 19" for $250. Viewsonic and Samsung are two manufacturers who make pretty good LCDs for a very good price. newegg link

    what the impact of DVI on LCD ???

    The Vga to DVi port may be same as buying another graphic card w/ DVI ???

    the manufacturer of both asus and viewsonic lcds is a company called chei mei optronics.

    So their own brand is number 5 on your list.

    I would choose samsung or lg, but next cmo as the best one that is a little cheaper.
