    Hi there,

The Dell m11x has three possible processor options:
    • SU7300
    • i5 520UM
    • i7 640UM

How much of a performance difference will I notice with each of these three processors? I do a lot of video/sound rendering and some casual to somewhat intense gaming.

I presume they're all Ultra low voltage processors as well. What does this mean in terms of battery life. Which one should provide the best battery life if all else remains constant?

Thank you for your help in advance

The i7 and i5 get about 2 hours less battery life than the SU7300. The i7 is the fastest, and probably the best option for you, as you do video rendering and gaming.

    In Passmark the scores are:

    640lm: 2113
    520um: 1274
    SU7300: 975

Unfortunately the Passmark list contains many errors. The SU7300 can get about 1100, the i5 520um will also get much more I expect.

The 2.16GHz 640 LM (which isn't offered in the m11x) and the 1.2GHz 640 UM are two different processors.

Currently I have T5750 on my Studio 15 - in terms of performance how would the SU7300 compare?

IF Passmark is right about the T5750, it would be very similar to the SU7300. You can double check on Notebookcheck.

the M11x is not a good option especially for your tasks.. if u want a lot of battery life and gaming performance , i suggest u get an acer timelineX 4820TG... it has way better performance... if u want a 13 incher , there's a 3820TG.
