Wife got an HP 720 g2 and I am wondering if it is possible to squeeze in a mSATA drive? It has an m.2 slot i know, but I have an unused 256GB mSATA drive at hand.

Would the msata drive + an msata->m.2 adapter fit in?

Are there any drawbacks of the adapter? (instability, speed...)

Would it fit? An M.2 card is 22mm wide while an mSATA SSD is about 29mm wide (I've just measured one).

The adapters I can find are to put an M.2 SSD into an mSATA slot. Do you have an example of an adapter for mSATA SSD to M.2 slot.
