Has anyone tested the various mSATA drives? I'm looking to add one to an IBM T420 laptop. No one appears to have any Intel 310 80gb units in stock. So what alternatives are worth considering (or avoiding)?

I'm looking for a 60 or 80gb unit in the $100 to $200 price range. The OS will be Win7. There's a dedicated mSATA slot in the T420 so that's what I'm going to use. I'll be keeping the other drives in their bays (hd and dvd).

I wouldn't put any other SSD than an Intel in my ThinkPAD. ;)

    Be patient, keep looking.

Yeah I would just want for the Intel Soda Creek SSDs to go back in stock.

But what evidence or testing shows this particular Intel drive to be any better than the others? Sure, the Intel desktop SSDs have a lot going for them, but the mSATA variants? Where's the reasoning?

They've consistently have the most reliable drives on the market (Mainstream G1, G2 and now G3). One would assume their mSATA drives would be no different.
