A standard USB port is rated at 5V, 0.5A. Chances are you can probably draw a bit more current from said USB port, but it's not a good idea to overload these things. Depending on how they're configured, powered USB ports may be able to dish out substantially more current through the standard pins, but the 5V figure should always be the same regardless of the make of your jack.

by using a voltmeter connected to the Vdd and Gnd lines of the USB port.

Is it bad to have a constant 5v fan on whenever the laptop is on? What about 2 5v fans? is that really bad for the mobo

    no, it's not bad.

just check what current they draw.

I am going to connect a small 5v 6mm thick blower fan directly to my usb power. And I would actually install the fan inside the notebook.

Right now I cant get my hands on a fan that's small enough.

wow is that a 6mm thick fan?

Anyway I don't see what current it takes in the specs.
But it's likely that it's under 0.5A so it should be fine.

If you do get it, on the fan itself it should say the amount of current it draws.
If it is more than 0.5A (which it probably isn't) then it could be too much for the notebook to handle. Would cause overheating probably and maybe even some damage after some use.
