I am getting the Thinkpad Z60M model 2530-38u

I want to upgrade to 2GB of memory. SO I have to buy (2) one GB sticks. So what brands should I consider? Is newegg a good place for memory?

Newegg is the BEST place for memory :)

Good brands include Kingston, Transcend, Crucial, Corsair, ect.

Just check the user reviews of whatever you want to buy. Alot of the brands have lifetime warrantees too

Agreed, go to Newegg. They have an entire section devoted to notebook memory.

On the value end of RAM, I like Corsair ValueSelect. Crucial is a bit more expensive, although very good quality.

I think Kingston Value RAM is a good choice too. I have used Kingston memory since I used P3-SDRAM
