i have two laptops. i want to upgrade both, but will it work?

    1. gateway mx3215
    2. hp dv8125nr

    1. 256mb 533mhz
    2. 512mb 333mhz

i was wondering, if i could put the memory from the hp (512mb 333mhz) into the gateway. since the gateway is only single slotted.

    is this a good idea?

533MHz memory module means that it is a DDR2 type RAM. The HP on the other hand is using DDR memory. DDR and DDR2 are not interchangable, so no you cannot put the HP memory into the Gateway.

Only way for you to upgrade both is to buy 512 or 1 gb ddr2 for the gateway and a 512 ddr for the HP. As miner stated they are different and not interchangable with each other.
