    memory upgrade - toshiba m105 - request advice

    I have a toshiba satellite M105-S3031 that has 512MB PC2-4200 DDR2-533MHz.
    I would like to upgrade to 1GB by adding another 512 MB.

    Please tell me the cheapest way to do this. (the laptop is already out of warranty so I am not hesitant to open it myself and add RAM.)
    what are the best places to buy laptop memory?

    I'll assume that you're sure you have one 512MB stick of RAM right now (and not two 256MB sticks).

    If you live in the US, you should try newegg.
    If you live in Canada, have a look at NCIX.

    Have a look at the RAM deals thread. Be sure to read Note 2 (how to burn-in your new RAM).
    Also, have a look at the Installing Laptop Memory guide.

    Few key points from the RAM deals topic to remember:
    Those topic should help you pick out some cheap RAM.
    As for installing it yourself, you really have nothing to worry about it. It's a very simple process.
