Hello,
My notebook came from Dell with a 256MB memory stick and I recently bought on eBay a second 256MB memory KTI stick in order to upgrade my C610 notebook to 512MB.
The system works well with the original memory that came in the notebook however...
When I placed the new memory stick memory in the memory module with the one already placed there I got a system error message like:
Memory high density (...) Lowering memory.
When I take out the dell original memory stick and place only my new memory stick in the notebook I got nothing on screen and just the HD led bliked 3 times and then the notebook shuts down...
What is happening?
Here are the specs of the memory I bought.
Is this a good working and compatible memory for dell C 610?

Hello and welcome.
Its looks pretty compatible to me. PC133 notebook memory. Did the seller mention anything on this RAM?

No, they are Dense memory modules, it means that they cannot work with older laptop motherboards.
The Dense modules are cheaper, so i think polopolo went with them for this reason.
Read this one then,

memory upgrade on C610 dont work.. error!!??..
