Any way to utilize those slots? Do they make an 8gb flash drive to put there? That would blast the Intels Turbo memory out the water as far as using it for the OS.

Does anyone know how many are in the HP 9700t series? It also has the ability to have a Cellular Broadband PCI-E as well. I didn't order one 'cause I have a USB model already- but it turns out my particlar adapter (Sierra Wireless 595U/Sprint) is just a mini PCI-E with a USB adapter in a case. If I could strip the adapter then get it inside my case, that would be one less thing to have to carry around.

I wonder about antenna issues, though ....

As far as I know one can get pci-e cards with 2x eSATA for the 54mm cards and 1x eSATA for the 24mm cards.

Not at the moment, ssd mini pci e cards are not available to consumers. Even if you were to get them, they are not as fast as conventional ssds, although they are relatively speedy.
