    motherboard upgrade possible for inspiron 3521.?

    hey! i've got inspiron 15 3521 laptop with i3 3227u processor 1.9ghz speed.intel hd 4000 and amd radeon hd 7670m graphic card. is it possible to upgrade the present i3 motherboard with an i5 3337u 1.8ghz turbo boost upto 2.6 ghz processor of the same inspiron 3521 model? i'm getting the i5 motherboard of the same laptop model for about $100 dollars! .
    so, my question is it possible to replace the i3 motherboard with i5 motherboard of the same inspiron 3521 model..both look exactly the same and hav got same graphic card..both model looks identical too... any help? plz

    fahad96, if it's the same model, it has to work. You'd better check service manual, however, since there may be some minor differences e.g. altered cooling system, which is very unlikely though.

    the manual for the two processor model is the same ..even the heat sink and the shell etc.....do u think it'll work?

    If your not sure just use your Service Tag number at dell support and see what boards come with it and not sure just email Dell and one of the tech can tell you for sure. As anything it doesn't hurt to contact the company that makes the laptop for board switching question besides asking the users here unless someone on here has done that swap then they would say yes or no in the attempt.
