Hello to everybody,
I've just ordered a brand new Lenovo T430, considering the fact that this kind of notebook is equipped with 2 sata 3 ports, reserved for the internal HDD and the DVD bay, i was wondering to pick an msata3 ssd and plug into the msata port.
The question is: how does react an msata 3 ssd on the sata2 bus? I've seen review of crucial m4 connected to a sata 2 bus, where the performance ar worse than intel x25... The first one is a sata 3 device capped to sata 2 bus, the second one is native sata 2.
In fact the msata port is on the bus sata2, and of course buying a msata3 ssd and connect to a msata2 port will limit the bandwith to 3GB/s.
After thoose consideration, I can't decide between an msata ssd or order a dvd caddy, and fill with a standard ssd sata 3 2.5"

BTW: as msata models, i was considering crucial m4, mushkin atlas, adata and of course samsung 830.

I like my msata. I like having an optical, 750gb ssd and a sad. For speed doubt you can tell speeds while using than running benchmarks. I wouldn't give it a second thought.
msata3 ssd on msata2 bus bandwith capped, and what about iops?!
