    mxm modules and future 8series video

    Hi have anybody information about the future high end video cards, if it is possible to goout in same mxm modules like 7series high end ao when can may came out. I want buy gaming lappy but dont want 7series video so have anybody any information how long I must wait? maybe december? or just januar? or later???? :(((

    8 series MXM modules may not come out. Very few laptops use an MXM interface, and laptops are designed for major upgradability. It is also probably more efficient thermally to solder the chips to the motherboard.

    Yep and a MXM module is no guarantee of future upgrade ability unless the newer chip also operate within the same power/thermal envelope ,

    MXM 8 series is out on Asus C90, MSI GX series and Acer 5920G for sure.

    Clevo will follow suit.

    Like he said, MXM is becoming more of a reality for the high-ish end gaming notebooks.

    Clevo M570RU and D900C [both using MXM-HE(IV)] has their 8700M GT's (MXM-III it looks like) ready for ordering now, and shipments by next month.

    it would be a good idea if there were MXM II 8600GT cards :D then atleast a select 'few' people could have the SLIGHT possibility of upgrading

    um... considering u usually dont find gfx cards for laptops commercially, and that MXM is new... u actually found a 512 8600GT from an online store... granted it is for the C90s.... im impressed lol

    I saw those on sale over a month ago :p aswell as the other c90 parts.

    the c90 may kick off something if it goes well

    ah, I thought you weren't from around here for some reason :D sorry about that

    I'm just asking because I may buy a mxm notebook, so I needed to know if there were any options here... buying from outside the EU is out of the question (customs and all... I've had my share of problems).
