Ok so, i bought a laptop this fall, and I sold my desktop, except for my HDD.
I recently bought an AZIO External Case to convert an internal drive to USB 2.0.
I have alot of important files that were in folder locations that were on my old desktop. and when i try to access them through the external drive. my F:\Documents and Settings\tyler (which is my username) it says access denied.
Is there a program out there to unlock this folder??? or what do i need to do to access this, because it is where i saved all my papers from previous classes in college, as well as where i ripped all my music from my cd collection.

So I guess you had a logon password? Easiest would be to pop your hard drive back into a desktop PC (the same model / configuration would be best, obviously) and get your files.

put it back in a desktop, get rid of your password, then put it back in the casing. that might work.

my desktop is long gone.

You can try putting it into another desktop (as the master). I hope you didn't delete the Windows folder or anything.
