Are you sure your laptop supports 8 GB RAM? Do you have a 64 bit operating system installed? Have you tested out your RAM?

Try switching them around, check whether they are seated properly.

When you boot up with 8GB, does it see 4Gb of RAM, just 6Gb of RAM or it just doesn't boot-up?

    Newegg.com - Crucial 8GB (2 x 4GB) 204-Pin DDR3 SO-DIMM DDR3 1066 (PC3 8500) Laptop Memory Model CT2KIT51264BC1067

This is what I have installed (see above link) on a Vaio VGN-Z 1st-gen which only supports 4Gb of RAM but runs with 8Gb just fine. I remember Samsung did not work because it had 8 chips per side unlike Crucial which had only 4 chips per side. The Samsung sticks seem to need more power than the Crucial ones.

it boots up and works fine but the laptop does not recognize the extra 4gb of ram. Well Ill do a memtest tomorrow and see if I have to return the ram and get a different brand instead
