    are the notebook and desktop versions of the hard disks same, i mean will i be able to uplug the (compatible of course) hard disk from my notebook and use it in my desktop and vice versa.
    same with the compatible RAMs?

    notebook ram is 200 pins
    desktop ram is 240 pins

    notebook HD = 2.5" (some are 1.8")
    desktop HD = 3.5"

    They do make adapters for HDD's, but definetly not RAM.

    you will first have to find out which kind of drive that you have, sata or ide.
    Then you will have to find out which drive your motherboard supports, I think all still support IDE, then you just get a 3.5" ide to whichever your laptop had converter. GL
