Purchased my nc8000 in 2004 and I finally had a head crash on my 40GB drive - lost everything, of course. The smallest IDE hard drive I could buy to replace it was 250GB, a pretty good size. This time I decided to partition the new hard drive to separate my data from the OS so if this happens again, I won't lose everything. C: partition currently is set up at 80GB. I reinstalled XP and all apps using the CDs provided with the laptop. What is now happening is that I am getting indescriminate blue screens followed by a reboot. The blue screen lasts about a second at most before it goes into the reboot process; I do not have enough time to read the blue screen, so I can't determine why I got it. In the midst of preparing this post I got another blue screen, so I really can't trust my laptop to stay up long enough for me to get anything done.

Any suggestions on what I can do to fix this? I have tried Googling the model number and 'hard drive' and I am not getting any hits on what is causing this so I can focus on fixing it. Is there something in the bios that is expecting 40GB?

Any help to correct this is muchly appreciated. All suggestions are appreciated. Thanks ahead of time.
