Assuming that the BIOS supports other CPUS - anything with the same socket should work - Possibly a Pentium M.

Be advised though that a second upgrade won't be worth its money - in fact, its a good question if its even worth investing up to 50$ now.

Celeron M 450 is probs the best u can go in the celeron range... it's a 2ghz one
i've seen many 430s for about 10 pounds on ebay uk... but the jump is only 0.13ghz which i doubt you will notice. the only 450 was for some reason 100 pounds :S
maybe a pentium m will work...

940 chipset... you can use any Socket M Celeron or Core Solo. You might be able to use some Socket M Pentium Dual-Cores or Core Duos, despite the lack of official support, but I wouldn't put too much money on that. In general the 940 is kind of a dead end with respect to processor upgrades...

To reduce heat output and power requirements, try undervolting your current CPU.

Core Solo is ur best bet but it wouldn't be a great improvement... I would either use the laptop for a few months and buy a new one ASAP.
