    when i want to burn a dvd in nero i get a power callibration error.
    i only get this error when burning dvd's . tried to burn a cd an that was oke .

    please tell me how to solve this problem .i find it hard to belive the drive is broke cause i only have the laptop from september .and i use deamon tools alot so i dont use the drive much
    dont think i burnt mre than 15 to 20 discs with it .

    i cleaned the lens with such a special disc with a brush on .but it still doesnt work .

    i also tried clone dvd2 but he doesnt work aswell.

    please help me .

    the dvd-writing laser might be damaged in your drive (or some other part which specifically affects writing dvds but not cds). can it read dvds? have you tried burning + discs and - discs? does clone dvd give you the same error or a different one?

    Christmas day is a bad day for problems ;)

    Have you tried other brand of disks or these are the same as before? Have you checked to see if drive is still in DMA, not PIO mode? Check under IDE secondary channel under hardware manager and/or search these threads for like information.
