    Hello,
I've just bought my new laptop approximately 1 and half a week ago,
normally it runs pretty good when I'm just browsing web pages and doing my homeworks.

However, when I start running games the CPU somehow gets stuned everytime.

For instance, when I run play sweeper and finish the game, mine sweeper for some reasons would freeze and stop responding for seconds.

Another example is, when I play medievil II total war, every time i try to enter the strategical map or battle map, my computer freeze for minutes.

Things like that happens all the time, and when it happens I find the CPU usage by the program could reach 90s% and according to the CPU monitor program the responsiveness of the CPU drops to 70~80%. p.s. my laptop power setting is on high performance.

So, does any know what is going on and what's wrong with my laptop?
I'd appreciate for your help, the following is my laptop's basic info.
    ==========
    Brand: ASUS N80V
CPU : Intel Duo T5800 (dual core, 2.0GHz)
    RAM : 4GB
    Video Card: GeForce 9650 GT
    VRAM: 1GN
    HDD : 320GB

It looks rather like a software issue to me. Probably your system is bloated with all the preinstalled crapware, reducing performance.

Also, when you go into games, switch your power profile to High Performance, so that the OS will not downclock the CPU

what can I do to fix that problem if it's because of the preinstalled software?

You can just uninstall whatever you don't need. Also, check Software forums for a guide on how to optimize your Vista, here

    Good luck!

Im sort of getting this as well with my new laptop. My previous computer was a desktop with 1.8 ghz dual core, 3 gb ram and a 7600 gt. My new laptop has 2.2 ghz dual core, 2 gb ram, 9600gt. And whenever i hop onto my desktop it seems that it goes a lot quicker, like when starting applications and browsing the web.

is your laptop plugged in? if its on battery it will not run in full performance mode. the computers software will reduce performance to save battery. also make sure your computer is set to high performance mode in power options.
it could also be to do with access times to the hard drive, since desktops usually have 7200rpm hard drives, and laptops usually have 5400rpm, so they cant search and load as fast.
could also be that you have more processes running on the laptop. also, if your laptop is vista and your desktop xp there will be a bit of difference in performance since vista needs more ram just to idle.
if you strip all the bloatware off the laptop it will run slightly quicker, also disable auto scans in windows defender and your anti virus which may run in the background.
disabling programs running on startup can also make a difference if you have slow boot times.

hope you can get something sorted :)
