hi all, hope someone can shed some light on my situation.

got a dell 6000 laptop and the power connector starting playing up on mobo and wouldnt re-charge the battery so it eventually ran completely flat. I purchased a new power connector and decided diy soldering was the best way forward. however, couldnt get old solder out so I ended up buying a new mobo off ebay shop. But now the bios and os both say there is no battery installed and wont charge.

has anyone seen or heard of this happening before. not sure if pc world can test a battery or not? is the mobo faulty?

    any ideas?

    thanks in advance
