    Hello and welcome to NBR.

What games are you looking at specifically?

I don't think it will have problems playing anything at the moment; but you might have to switch to medium settings for some of the latest stuff

The 9600m gs is a nice mid range gpu and should handle newer games.

It'll run pretty much any game out right now, but with more demanding ones you'll have to lower the graphics quality settings.

Unless you are on a tight budget, I would look for a better GPU.

I run Crysis on low to medium with my Mac's 8600m GT in 1440x900. You should be able to put at least medium then. ;)

My 9800M GS runs it at 1280x720 medium within playable fps (min 24 average 35ish). High puts it down to 24 fps and thats with the GTS clock speeds and voltages. Tested on several drivers all clean installed dox 182.05 seemed to be the best on high but stock 179.14 believe it or not was better in medium didnt retest the new 185.85 in crysis yet.

The 9600M will play nearly every racing game out there on high settings as I know this will play them max'd out. DiRT/DiRT 2 is/will be a bit of a challenger tho.

As i found out today GTA4 is 99% cpu 1% GPU dont buy it lol, console version is much more enjoyable.

Don't rely on notebookcheck rankings, they're pretty useless unless you take them with the specific components of the notebook in question and hence can be inaccurate.
