Hi, I'm trying to determine how much memory my gpu has. The nvidia control panel states 6144mb dedicated video memory while aida64 states 4095mb total memory under the gpu section. Which should I trust?

Which GPU do you have? Which laptop?

on my GeForce GTX 980 (Desktop Class) both GPU-Z and AIDA64 show the same thing= 8GB

BUT, AIDA64 says my RAM is 2400 MHz. HWiNFO says it is 2800 MHz. HWiNFO is correct

    Use HWiNFO and check

It's most likely 6GB... The 870M was made with 3GB and 6GB version however the MXM ones were 6GB and the 8278 has a MXM GPU...

    Trust the nvidia control panel.

Aida64 is probably using the wrong method to retrieve the info from your GPU.

AID64 does this a lot... The control pannel or even HWinfo64 can do this better and more accurately :)
