    hi all,
Just went through ebay listing of oem ssd.
I put bids which i expected to be outbid but i won both auctions.
Hereby i would like to know if its worth getting oem ssd?

    both are samsung ssd.
    1) samsung 470 seried oem
    128 gb won for 112 $

    2) samsung 830 series 64 gb retail
    for 93 $

is it worth buying OEM SSD from ebay?

or shall i buy retail SSD?

or still better, get it from amazon/newegg?

    thanks.

OEM and retail drives in reality are the same drives. The difference is mostly the packaging and may be the warranty due to the higher premiums of retail. If they are both unused, feel free to buy OEM drives.

I have had several OEMs so far and haven't had any issues with them.

With the Samsungs there's a problem with upgrades of the firmware.
Samsung firmware updates work only with their retail SSDs.
You have to get any firmware updates from the OEM.
