Just get a quad... When your getting up to that point it's a better buy...
Anyway if you are getting the 2.93 duo.. There is no point to go up

the E8435 can be OC'd in the Asus up to 4 ghz ... i would like to test and see if this does work.

i have NO need for a quad and it would be a waste for me.

From what I have been reading, it appears the Intel E8435 is a X9100 with a slightly higher clockspeed... Apples attempt at boosting prices?

It looks like it has been used in a HP Dv4 so I would so it is possible for PC use, however I don't know if it will work with the M17x's Board... I would assume so however as it is based of the X9100 model

I think it will work, but its still a small lottery because some the bios can be setup in a way that restricts a cpu unless its one of the ones certified to work on the machine.

But most machines have an open bios that allows any hardware to work as long as the hardware itself is compatible (fsb, pin layout, etc)
