    Hi, i ordered 1333mhz DDR3 ram for my X201, and i just noticed the ram in it right now is 1066mhz. Will it work? or should i try to cancel my order? cheers.

    Yes it will still work, and odds are you won't notice a difference in performance anyways.

    If you order RAM that operates at a higher clock rate, the notebook will just downclock it to match its specifications anyway, so no biggie there.

    is 1066 the fastest a X201 with the i5-540M can take? I ask because my precision (if it had the quad core processor) can take up to 1866mhz ddr3, even though the max dell will sell you is 1600mhz.

    just curious. i know the ram speeds don't make a noticeable difference anyway.

    Arrandale Core i3/i5/i7 only natively support 1066. 1333 or higher will be downclocked to 1066.
