I just bought an alienware m9750, yes its old, but the pair of 3870s I have coming will keep it usable for a looong time...

I was looking at getting the t7600 for it(the best socket M cpu) but I ran across a little known revision/upgrade that has an unlocked multiplier the t7600g

Does ANYONE know were I could possibly find one of these? ;) I would probably be willing to pay waaay more than its worth...

The Sspec for the t7600g is sl9u5. I looked on ebay today and didn't see any available but they pop up every once in a while. They run sometimes over 200 dollars. I've got one in an old Toshiba and it will run reasonablly at 2.83 GHz at 1.25 volts. It does have a tendency to get warm and i can't push it more due to cooling. Good Luck finding one.

There was one that ended last week for $220... that is a little more than what I want to spend right now, considering the t7600 is in the low $100 range :(

I don't suppose you would part with yours?

No. It is in a the only computer that i have at the moment. I will admit 220 is not too bad considering I paid about 350 about a year ago. The t7600 is just as good. Yeah you can't overclock it like the "g" but your computer will run pretty good. Mine had a t5500 originally and with the t7600g it was night and day faster even at stock.

Perhaps you can settle with a regular T7600 and overclock it via SETFSB? You might have to make a small donation to the software author to have the support for your laptop.

You can overclock the M9750 through ClockGen.
