I recently bought a new battery for my puter. Now my battery charger gets so hot I can't touch it.Then it quits charging. After it cools down it will work again. It does it no matter if I am using the puter or just letting it charge. Is the problem my new battery already going bad or the charger going bad.I did go through the conditioning cycle with the new battery, but it doesn't seem to be holding a charge as long as I think it should.

Try to return the battery or deffinitely try to pursue the people you bought it from, it's probably not an OEM battery, it should be genuine to be absolutely sure it works. Did you buy it off of eBay from one of the many big warehouse companies?

I bought it from an online retailer that specializes in batteries.I do not recall the name and I don't have the info with me.
