Well, keep in mind that laptops have power restrictions and heat can damage them easily.

An X700 will be powerful enough for your games (I posted FPS at another one of your posts :-]).

My laptop has a 64MB GeForce4 440 Go, and it is not very good for newer games.
Consider this: the base core/memory speeds for my card are 190/405. I can play far cry, but it is choppy. If I overclock to 220/410, Far Cry is much smoother. However, I only overclock when I have to, because like I said, it's a laptop, and I don't want anything bad to happen.
So, I guess you could probably overclock some if you HAD to, I don't recommend it.
If you do overclock, adjust in 3 or 5MHz increments at a time and then test it out for stability issues. Don't raise the memory too high, it might burn out (ouch).
The X700 is a nice card, and it will be fine for games, no need to overclock.

Hope I have been of service...

    Hi

I second that motion. I have a 5024 and the games I have tried (HL2, BF2, Far Cry, Doom 3) have all run very well indeed, even on high or very high settings. It can get a bit hot but not so much as you'd notice if occupied with gaming.
