i am buying a hdx16t, and i will mainly use it for hd video and multimedia and other regular tasks, nothing major other than that, is it worth the price increase to go to a t9400, right now i'm think of getting the p8400

Stick with the P8400. You don't need the extra cache and frequency. P8400 is a very fast CPU, and alongwith the 9600M GT, you won't have problem watching HD, and regular/multimedia tasks are not CPU-intensive.

P8400 should be plenty of power for that.

The P8400 is a powerful cpu and will suffice for pretty much everything. Though if you have a bit more to spend, go with a P8600
