I'm going to be doing audio production so Im thinking My Sonar prog will make use of the multi cores of the Q9000 over dual core T9900 (example)

STOP!! QX9300 will not work in P7805u... only dual works... T9900/X9100 is best option.. IMO X9100 is best because u can OC insane with throttlestop.. QX9300 doesn't work with this model.. read on gateway forums.

the 7805 will not support quad! I have personally tried with a Q9000 and it does not work, check out the gateway thread and you will see others there confirming. I hope you didn't buy already.

I do audio production multi tracking. The program would make use of the 4 cores. But until i can afford a new lappy I may go with T9900 dual core I hear it is a nice upgrade. I would hate to spend money on cpu that I would have to turn around and sell for less than I paid because it wont work. Maybe I could sell the 7805 to my gaming buddy put that $ and cpu $ toward new lappy

a T9900 might be too expensive.. try X9100.. might get them cheaper and they OC as much... try NBR marketplace.. once saw one for $275
