I would like to no if there is a way to add a partition to a notebook with windows xp already installed

Yup. Use a program called partition magic I beleive. I think you can do it.
If not, I don't know, and I believe that program costs money... so... -
Partition manager 5 can be downloaded free and that is what i used and had some trouble getting rid of all the space in drive D. It left 1 gb in drive D and tried several times to get rid of the 1gb it left and the computer would hangup on reboot. I finally got rid of it by reformatting Drive D and a number of other things. using PM or something similar believe me will destroy ur partition table time after time
i prefer doing it the hard and safe way
i reinstall the windows and from there i delete the single partition and create two -
u need to try to install Linux or something else beside WinXP and u will know what i mean

It works fine with Linux partitions. I prefer GParted though. Simpler and more powerful.
