    anyone care to enlighten me as to the difference?

    both are clearly 667mhz ddr2 modules, with the same CAS latency.

    just trying to find out before i go for the 4 GB ram upgrade.

    they're the same. the manufacturers just round differently

    The way that those numbers are calcualted is by multiplying the base speed (667 in this case) by 8.

    What you get is 5336. So some manufacturers round down to 5300, and some round up to 5400. But as cx said, they are the same.
