Well, you can get a USB PCMCIA...however there is no such thing as Express card to PCMCIA.

There's no feasible way of doing that, no. There are Expresscard -> PCMCIA adapters I believe, but they are very expensive and not worth the price...

    Hi,

I am looking for the other way around. I bought a new notebook for work that has an express 54 card port and I have a standard GPRS/UMTS card for mobile communications. Is there anykind of adapter that works? I am trying to find out so my boss can figure some kind of solution out for my mobile communication needs.

I've seen an expensive USB to PCMCIA adaptor but no Express card to PCMCIA adaptor.

The alternative is to look for a USB SPRS module such as this (again, very expensive) or this (slightly less expensive).

Some telecoms companies, such as Vodafone, offer a USB unit as part of a bundle.

Some notebooks (eg Dell M1330, a version of the Samsung Q40) are including support for a SIM card. One advantage of this approach is that, if it uses the notebook's antenna system, then it get better signal quality.

They DO indeed have Express Card slot -> PCMCIA Slots.

Google it, they're VERY expensive though!
