pentium m 750 Sonoma 1.86 ghz and celeron m 550 Merom 2.0 ghz, which one is faster and better?
-
The Celeron for sure. It's based on a far newer CPU architecture and build on a smaller process (65nm).
Which notebooks are you looking at? -
Just be aware that if you have the Pentium M, you can't upgrade that computer's CPU to the Merom.
-
the celeron is faster
The battery will last longer with a pentium m -
celeron M is better but don't expect much... ur looking at a pentium dual core at least for proper performance nowadays..

What kind of performance is "proper" is determined by him, it's not a generalized term in the CPU world, what if you need big Xeons and define that performance as "proper" for your work?
-
I agree, "proper" performance is all related to user work. I hate sounding like a broken record, but I'm currently typing from a P4 with 2Gb of RAM and I'm not crying to do my work(which atm mostly involves cloning discs and working on a Virtualization Server). I love how nowadays you need such high specs for basic computing
Anyhow, I also vote for the Celeron M. -
-
I agree the celly will be the better proc, nuttin like a celly..............
-
celeron is a platform, NOT a cpu........
-
Umm no.

Celeron is definitely the CPU.
A platform is Santa Rosa, Montevina, Calpella, etc
