hey all, I ordered a Dell Inspiron 6400 and cant wait for it!

I have since though been looking for a power supply for a backup as I hate the dell power adaptors and would like a DC/air power option.

I was EXTREMELY happy with my Igo Juice 7 but alas, the 6400 takes more power than the 70 can dish out!

I started looking on Igo's web-stie for a new solution and found that the power tip for the 6400 does not charge the battery but can only provide straight-through power to the unit. WTF?!?!
    See here - http://www.igo.com/product.asp?sku=2701847

In any case, are there any 3rd party DC/AIR/AC all in one units that can charge the battery??

    Thanks in advance.

The Kensington 120W AC/DC Slim Power Adapter. Available online for less than 40$ shipped. All the tips you need will be included (at least, the Dell will be supported right out of the box)

Gents, through a bit of searching I happened upon this site in regards to the afore mentioned Kensington Brick - http://www.starsurplus.com/viewcart.lasso

At $23 + $5 shipping for the unit, that is a great price. It doesnt include the tip I need, but that is available locally for $9.99 plus tax - any compusa.

Thanks Guatam3 for the suggestion, that will likely be my best option!

Which airline? Most US domestic are rated only 70 watts at the seat outlet. Do google search. 70 watts will run your laptop unless you charge battery and/or game with a killer GPU.

I wouldn't let anyone know your charging your "dell" battery ;)...and some airlines forbid you to charge ANY laptop battery.

If your just looking for car mobility, get a cheap 12 to 115 DC/AC inverter at Walmarts, about $25 for 200 watts, and use your AC/DC brick.

The power brick that ships with the 6400/E1505 is rated at only 65W (or atleast the power brick that mine came with), so an airplane adapter should be more than enough.
