I recently acquired a Sony notebook with a power switch malfunction due to switch de-assembly during previous owner's use.

I'd appreciate a brief tutorial from someone experienced with re-assembling the power switch, to include amount of case & other teardown necessary to do the job. I'm a newbie with tools, but no experience. Your help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for looking here.

are you reffering to the power jack on the motherboard?

If so, than you will have to disassemble most of your laptop in order to get to the motherboard.
It is a easy task to do so long as you have used a screwdriver and a soldering iron before.
I dont have a manual for taking your system apart, and I am not sure if there is one. You may have to just take it apart on your own and take pictures along the way so you can see what screws go where and how to assemble the thing.
