I don't trust non-OEM batteries, 3rd party ones, even if made up to standard to OEM ones I find never last that long. I don't even think Panasonic makes HP batteries, or they won't last 2.5 years and go kaput (telltale signs of a Sanyo/Sony battery)

That's the hard point I would say check with eBay with your battery part number and see if you find a matching battery marked HP there will be various makers for the battery but with your age of laptop I would say find a good used hp battery that is tested working and holding charge that would be your better replacement should the OEM cost too much. But sometimes you do find good OEM on sale in eBay you just have to check and ask the seller questions about it. That is how I find replacement batteries for my laptop and found some New OEM battery on there as well.

Same league here but I won't buy those from China as those can be suspect of poor material quality as well. So look to see where the seller is selling from and check the pictures of the batteries to see where it is made from will tell you as well. I bought used OEM batteries from eBay and had very good usage from them but one needs to do homework when looking for used OEM replacement batteries but there are times when they do sell new OEM batteries on there from less then from the laptop manufactures.

Really, then why ask for help go buy the $150 battery. These are the simple minded people whom can't seem to think outside of the box and think they can know more when they hardly no squat. Your reply is the most illogical reply I seen close to irrational replies I seen. Don't come asking for help here if all you can do is give simple closed mindset replies.
