    Hello

I bought Western Digital My Book Premium external hard drive few weeks ago and it works great except for one thing. When drive is not in use (about 15-20 minutes) it goes to sleep (stops spinning). This is very annoying because when I want something from drive or just open explorer it has to spin up and that takes some time (ok not much). Is there a way to prevent this from happening.

    Thanks

try to find settings in the device manager for the drive itself or the interface you are using that prevents it from turning the drive off to save power

I found nothing in device manger or in any off the software that came with the drive. Changes in Power Options don't change anything either. I'm using Win XP BTW.
