The Videocard went out on my motherboard (I'm a PC tech, tested myself) and thus i have to replace tehe entire mobo, thing is, the part is 400 from HP (its actually more expensive to have it shipped to me and have me do the work, than to send the laptop in and let them do it, wtf?) and 2-400 on ebay

I'm really not wanting to spend that much to fix this thing, as its not old enough to replace imo, but thats freggin expensive for a 1 1/2 year old laptop (just enough to let warrenty go out, go figure)

I'm very comfortible with replacing the mobo myself, along with modding laptops and desktops, so i have a few ideas:

Anyone have any information as of cheaper mobos that could fit this mobo? anyone got any options that cost under 100 dollars for a repair? im open to suggestions :(

400 dollars just isnt something i can afford to shell out atm, thats why i got into computers, so i can fix 'em cheap >.<

    any suggestions? :(

here is what you can do,
you can use a motherboard repair facility. I have found one excellent place which will repair motherboard for relatively cheap. The best thing about them is that if they cannot fix your motherboard, you do not have to pay them. This means you have nothing to loose other than the shipping costs.

I would call them up, because in my experience it is more efficient calling them than emailing.

    @ K-Tron ...

Pell Technology kept my laptop for 3-4 months and asked me to pay $495 for motherboard replacement (they say), after one more month when I asked if they repaired it they said they don't have the parts, I waited about 2 more weeks and they send the laptop back, (NOT fixed).
Now they will not send me the money back, it is over 2 months since I made this payment, they keep saying that they will refund but they don't do it :(
10 days ago someone finally answered the phone and asked for the full card number and invoice number and said I will see the refund in few days... they lied again.
    This is fraud !!! :(

wow, I am really sorry that you have had problems with them. I will not recommend them again. I didnt have any problems, they told me they couldnt fix mine, and than they shipped it back to me.

K-T clearly the company is not a scam. They do have some issues. At the moment they have 2 unresolved and one failure to respond. They have had many more but have resolved. Here is the link to the BBB file.
