i recently bought an m9750, and i paid for 2GB of 667mhz RAM, however wherever i go in the system that shows RAM Mhz, it shows it as 333Mhz. Even in the system info AW supplied this is listed:

    Memory Module 1
    Capacity: 1024MB
    Bank Label: DIMM #1
    Mem_Type: DDR2
    Mem_Frequency: 332.5 MHz

    Memory Module 2
    Capacity: 1024MB
    Bank Label: DIMM #2
    Mem_Type: DDR2
    Mem_Frequency: 332.5 MHz

so should i be worried about this? Have AW changed something without telling me,do they use this RAM then OC it to 667, or could it simply be a display error in vista not showing correct values

DDR=Double Data Rate, 333x2=667(666) so your doing good.

there are a few things involved with ram, they run into 2 catagories
    a) software
    b) hardware

here's the thing, ram has to be bought in pairs identical ram even pairs. alot of the times it is a hardware compatibility issue with newer models of notebooks using vista, there is no harm in it. vista automatically identifies the hardware installed and generates it quota stats, brands also pay a little factor in compatibility, vista has a list of brands that it recognizes and allows to be accurate in the system hardware manager.

software can be tricky when reading new hardware vista for example is vary anal for drivers and what hardware it wants to allow,

Only suggestion i have for you, bring the ram back to the store where you purchased it and get a different brand. take the old ram with you so that you can match the pin configuration. good luck

RAM does not need to be matched by brand. You do get the maximum performance if it is matched for size, speed and latency. If it is not matched in size, speed and latency it should still work it will clock down to the slowest but should still work.

Nothing wrong with OP's RAM Quest.
