    problem with laptop monitor

    hi everyone,i'm new here but unfortunately i have problem with my laptop.I was gaming and suddenly the screen changed and appeared strange lines.I restarted my pc and tried to change the screen resolution but nothing.my laptop is:
    Philips x 57
    Intel core2 duo 1.67 Ghz
    Ram 1 Gb
    Hdd 100 Gb
    Graphic card Nvidia geforce 7400 256 mb
    vista ultimate

    Try to boot in safe mode by hitting F8 just after turining your laptop ON and post back.

    Your link does not work, but their is either one of two problems.
    1) your graphics card overheated and is artifcating, causing problems.
    2) (most likely the case) the lcd ribbon cable became a little loose, and the connection is not very solid between the motherboard and the lcd resulting in bands of pixels which cannot be used.
    For number 2, simply open the lcd bezel, and get to the back of teh lcd screen. Than remove the cable, and reconnect it. Make sure it is connected and than put a piece of tape on the cable, so that it cannot become disconnected again. Than put the lid back together and hopefully everything works good for you.
