I have a Toshiba m30x-s214 with 1.3 processor. How much higher can I go on this machine as far as processor speed goes? Any help is appreciated.

You might be able to upgrade to the Celeron M 390 at 1.7 Ghz, but the notebook will still be slow overall. Given the cost of the processor (if even available still) and the cost of having it installed (if not by yourself) you'd be much better off buying a new notebook for under $700.
