    processor and xp mode

    i have an inspiron 1525 duel core it came with vista i duel boot xp vista and now windows 7 i ran the xp mode test and it said my processor did not have hard ware is there any work around .i read some post of others running 1525 and it worked for them.i would love to be able to run xp in back ground or window....thanks for any advice

    Well, I'm assuming you have a processor like the T3200? I don't think that supports Intel's Virtualization Technology, so you probably can't.

    I think the people who are running XP Mode on a 1525 are the people who had upgraded to a better processor.

    Unless you are doing something that absolutely requires maximum compatibility, or you are using it in a workplace, then I don't think you need it.

    get vmware or some other virtualization software , your cpu does not support hardware virtualization

    Since you already have xp mode installed, which also mean you have the microsoft virtual pc installed. Just install windows xp and use it instead of using the preconfigured windows xp in xp mode.

    With a dual core you should be OK. Just enable in BIOS.

    and ur processor has to support it... upgrade to a T7000 series processor at least to be sure...
