So I am on the verge of buying a macbook for insanely cheap... my big question before I do though is whether I'll be crippling myself in the future by buying a computer with a Core Duo (NOT core 2) and an Intel GMA 950 gpu
thanks!
p.s. I need answers by the end of today so any quick replies are appreciated

Honostly for around $900, the macbook you can buy isn't "insanely cheap". You can use a student discount (even if you're not a student) at the online apple store and get a brand new macbook NOW for $1000, only $100 more with better specs. It's only got the GMA 950 as well, but honostly, it's new and not used, and I don't think you're getting a very good deal with that macbook

Well what do you do with your machine? If you plan on doing any gaming, then you are crippling yourself. But if you don't, then it doesn't matter about the bad gpu.
Also, core duo cpus are very good, just slightly slower than the newest core 2 ones. The big thing is that you have 2 cpus, so that's good. Speedwise, they are very fast indeed. But at the same time, you can always upgrade to a newer core 2 cpu if you should feel the need for more processing power. -

Unless you do heavy video editing and encoding, you'll be fine with the Core Duo.
