hey, pretty much what the title says..

if the processor is : Intel® Core™ 2 Duo T7200 (2.00GHz, 4MB L2 Cache, 667MHz FSB) and the RAM is : 2GB Shared Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 533MHZ, 2 DIMM, will it run fine? or should i downgrade my processor, to have the same MHz as the RAM?

    thanks in advanced.

EDIT: the video card is :256MB ATI MOBILITY™ RADEON® X1400 HyperMemory, not that it matters I think.

I'm sure it'll run fine, better with same fsb but de-fsbing your cpu wont make any difference.

There is basically no performance difference between DDR2-533 and DDR2-667, so get whatever is cheaper. As Jess said, having the FSB speed match the memory speed doesn't make a difference with a Centrino notebook.

See the DDR2-533 vs. DDR2-667 benchmarking thread at the top of this forum for more in-depth information.

The CPU:RAM speed ratio was 1:1 ages ago, but as time progressed and CPU's got faster (while memory speeds stagnated) the ratio increased dramatically. Consequently, it is extremely important to have good cache coverage---your CPU will be idle if too many cache misses occur and you keep drawing data from main memory via your FSB (which has to be just as fast or faster than your memory). With the T7200 and its 4MB of cache, you're looking at little to no performance hit with the slower 533Mhz RAM. This is not to say that better designed and lower latency 667Mhz RAM won't perform better, it's just saying that you're not incurring any sort of penalty as a result of using the 533Mhz RAM.
