it had a xga 1024x768 screen installed but was all marked, can i put in a sxga screen?
i noticed the video cable says xga, do i need a new cable? i found one on ebay and a few other parts sites but none of them specify how man pins the connector has, the xga screen is 20 pin.

i already tried a sxga 20 pin screen but got no picture, nothing.

I've seen those with higher res screens (1680x1050), but they all had ATI graphics I believe. I think your LVDS connector may not support that res without a supporting graphics chipset. If it's Intel graphics, I can pretty much assure you it won't work.
