Will the s-video out on the NP2090 be able to output at a higher resolution than the screen on the laptop? ex. I buy the WXGA screen and want to output to a higher resolution flat panel- will this work?

I'm pretty sure that will work, but I could be wrong.

S-Video typically can support no more than 800x600 at most, and most applications only run at 640x480. For higher resolution you need VGA, DVI, or HDMI.

I can get 1024x768 (XGA) out of my T42 s-video out. I don't know what the limiting factor is and whether or not you can get widescreen resolutions. I would suggest looking up the documentation for your specific graphics chip's capabilities for output.

Yeah, the card can support any mainstream VGA monitor at extremely high resolutions. It can vastly surpass the resolution of your laptop screen. This will do exactly what you want it to without any problems.
