:) I just buy a Dell Inspiron 6000D with 512MB,DDR2,533MHZ,1 DIMM RAM. And I want to add a 512MB DDR2 RAM to open the Dual Channel. Can I just buy a RAM from other brand like kingston or I can only buy RAM from DELL to use the fuction? Someone said that I must have to identical memory to use the Dual Channel, but others said that I only need the two sticks have the same densities? Who is true? Or whether I can use the Dual Channel by adding a kingston or other brand 512 MB DDR2 memeory to work with the original Dell' s memory?

    Thank you very much!

To run dual-channel, you need two matching sticks of memory, as in, two 512MB sticks. It doesn't matter if you mix brands - I recommend Kingston, Crucial, and Corsair. Good, reliable memory.
